A Logan County jury today convicted Brandon P. Whitt on charges of tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree, and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
The charges arose from an incident on September 5, 2022, when Washington Township police officer Earl Wisener saw Whitt driving under suspended license. Whitt did not stop immediately after being signaled to do so. The jury found that while Whitt continued to drive, he discarded methamphetamine from his vehicle. The State of Ohio was represented by Logan County Assistant Prosecutor Stacia Rapp. The defendant was represented by defense counsel John Cunningham of Dayton, Ohio. It was a busy week in the Logan County Court of Common Pleas. Judge Kevin P. Braig handed down five prison sentences. In total, the judge dished out 27 years of prison time.
