Logan County Animal Shelter
Logan County Commissioners have announced plans for a new animal shelter designed to provide a safe haven for lost and abandoned animals in the community.
This 8,400 square feet shelter will feature a range of specialized areas to support animal care. In partnership with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, this shelter would be located on the grounds of the Sherriff's Office and allow the opportunity to address the needs of both pets and livestock involved in legal cases. Logan County Sheriff Randy Dodds and Logan County Dog Warden Deputy Jacob Boyd will manage this facility. Inmates from the Logan County Jail will assist with animal care, building maintenance, and cleaning during non-public hours. To support the construction and ongoing operations of the shelter, the Logan County Commissioners have approved new dog tag rates for 2025, increasing from $18 to $20. This adjustment is intended to help fund the staffing and operational costs of the facility. |
